Author Biography

• John Edward Terrell, Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago
  John Edward Terrell is Curator of Oceanic Archaeology and Ethnology and Director of the New Guinea Research Program at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. He graduated from Harvard College with highest honours, and received his AM and PhD degrees in Antropology at Harvard University; he also undertook graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Auckland. He is editor of a forthcoming volume of contributed essays, 'Archaeology, Language, and History: Essays on Culture and Ethnicity', and co-editor with John P. Hart of the volume 'Darwin and Archaeology: A Handbook of Key Concepts'.
