  • Peter E. Jones, Sheffield Hallam University

Peter E Jones is a linguist by background and training whose interests range widely over general linguistic theory, communication theory, semiotics and philosophy of language. He has a particular interest in Marxist theorising in the language and communication area and has ongoing projects related to Vygotskian cultural-historical psychology and activity theory. He is also an advocate of Roy Harris's integrational linguistics and has produced integrationist critiques of Critical Discourse Analysis, Distributed Cognition, Basil Bernstein's 'codes' theory and Vygotsky's treatment of speech internalization.
