ESITIS Webinar, March 25, 2021, 13:00-15:30 Central European Time
Dear colleagues and friends in ESITIS,
We still live in challenging times within our different contexts. The pandemic is everywhere, and it influences our work as well as our well-being. Many places it triggers or deepens already existing problems.
In the ESITIS board we want to explore how the pandemic may influence our field of Intercultural Theology and Interreligious studies, and you are all cordially invited to our online seminar 25 March 1 pm – 3.30 pm CET.
Keynote speakers will be Najeeba Syeed on Interreligious Relations during COVID 19; Joanna Wojtkowiak on Religious Rituals during COVID 19; and Willie Jennings on Theo-logics of Race and Populisms during COVID 19. There will be possibilities to mingle online, and space for ESITIS people to give short, five-minute contributions from where you are. Please notify Matthew Robinson: [email protected] or Anne Hege Grung beforehand [email protected] if you wish to do so. The webinar is free of charge and open to everyone, but you do need to register. For the full presentation of the program, the speakers and link to the registration follow this link: https://www.esitis.org/event/the-pandemic-as-challenge-for-intercultural-and-interreligious-relations/
The online webinar is hosted by the University of Bonn and we are grateful for all their logistical and organizational support. As you may remember, the pre-pandemic plan was to have our full conference there this spring. We still hope we can arrange this next year, and will keep you posted.
We also would like to send a kind reminder about paying your membership fee. This is 60 euro, plus 3 euro for the transaction cost if you pay via Paypal. Details are to be found here: https://www.esitis.org/application-for-membership/. As you know, this includes a subscription to ISIT, our affiliated journal. For information on ISIT’s current and upcoming publications, you can visit the ISIT website: https://journal.equinoxpub.com/ISIT.
On behalf of the board, I hope to see you all 25 March – online. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Anne Hege Grung
