The author is an archaeologist, specializing in Palestinian studies. She is currently working at Leiden University on a project which centres around the region of Deir 'Alia, the site described in this article. Besides a general interest in food history, she is especially keen to pursue the question of the Babylonian recipes - see her query in PPC 40.
