Abstract

This is a continuation of the author's study of a Regency family's (the Feltuss family) culinary habits. This essay examines how they catered for special occasions, from entertaining family and relations, to the meals served to celebrate calendar customs or rites of passage. It is revealing to read what a real family chose to eat at these events, rather than rely on the usual literary and other more general sources of information.
