Editors
Catherine Strong is an Associate Professor, Music Industry Program, in the School of Media and Communication, RMIT University.
Shane Homan teaches media studies and is Director of Research in the School of Media, Film and Journalism. He has published 5 books and many book chapters and journal articles on cultural policy, particularly intersections between the music industries and national cultural policy. Shane also works in the areas of media and music histories and heritage; with Cath Strong (RMIT), he is the co-editor of the Popular Music History journal (Equinox). He has completed a history of Sydney rock music (2003) and is currently leading an Australian Research Council Discovery project, Interrogating the Music City, on the industrial and urban histories of Melbourne popular music.

Beate Peter, University of Groningen, Netherlands
Beate Peter is Assistant Professor of Cultural Sociology at the University of Groningen, Netherlands. In her work, she focuses on aspects related to the historiography of popular music and the relevance of lived experiences. Her interest in the development of creative methods to capture participation in music events stem from her engagement with electronic music cultures and the role that the body plays in live music events both physically and virtually. Beate works across disciplines and, as co-editor of Popular Music History (Equinox), is particularly keen to see more interdisciplinary analyses of popular music histories. Beate publishes mainly on electronic dance music cultures, discussing issues related to embodiment, perception and sociality.
Patryk Galuszka, University of Lodz, Poland
Patryk Galuszka is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Lodz, Poland. He has edited/co-authored three books: “Made in Poland: Studies in Popular Music” (Routledge, 2020), “Eastern European Music Industries and Policies after the Fall of Communism” (Routledge, 2021), and “Crowdfunding and Independence in Film and Music” (Routledge, 2021). His articles have been published in journals such as International Journal of Communication, Poetics, Information, Communication & Society, Popular Music, Popular Music & Society, and Media, Culture & Society. His research interests include the creative industries, popular music studies, and economic sociology. Currently, his work focuses on investigating showcase festivals from economic and cultural studies perspectives.
