Abstract

Michael Hannan and Fred Cole provide an analysis of the emergence of the genre known as Goa (and/or Goa trance). Their study provides a discussion of the music's origins around the city of Goa, on the west coast of India; :its subsequent spread to Australia and Europe; and key elements of its musical style.
