Author Biography

  • Matthew Brown, Eastman School of Music

    Matthew Brown is a Professor of Music Theory at the Eastman School of Music. He has a PhD in musicology from Cornell University and was a Junior Fellow at Harvard’s Society of Fellows. He has written books about Debussy’s Ibéria and about Schenkerian theory. He is currently finishing a book about Debussy’s impact on popular culture, including Hollywood movies, and started another that focuses on music in horror films.
