    Sally McConnell-Ginet is Cornell Professor of Linguistics Emerita and former president of the Linguistic Society of America and of the International Gender and Language Association. Her publications on social and political dimensions of linguistic practice include Gender and Language (with Penelope Eckert, Cambridge, 2013[2003]), Gender, Sexuality and Meaning (Oxford, 2011) and Words Matter (Cambridge, 2020).
