Author Biography

  • George Ezekiel Aberi, Victoria University of Wellington

    George Aberi holds an M.A degree in English Linguistics from Egerton University Kenya. He is the author of “the Discursive Use of Language and the Position of Women: Slavery of the Gusii Woman,” Published M.A Dissertation (Lambert Academic publishers 2011). He has recently presented a paper titled “Rhetoric Across Borders: Intertextuality in Kenyan Parliamentary Discourses of Women’s Rights,” at the 8th International Gender and Language Association Conference, Vancouver -Canada. Aberi has also co-authored a number of journal articles focusing on varied issues of linguistic concern. He is currently pursuing a PhD programme in linguistics at Victoria University of Wellington. His thesis examines the Intertextuality in Kenyan policy discourses of women’s rights.
