    Nayawiyyah MUHAMMAD teaches Religious Studies at California State University, Long Beach. Islamic theory, Muslims in America, and ecofeminist theology are among the topics she explores in her research, intersecting religion with women, gender, and environmental concerns. She is currently working on the application of ecofeminist epistemologies within Islamic contexts.
