  • Roger Hickman, California State University

    Roger Hickman is a professor of music at the Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach, where he teaches courses in music history, music appreciation, and film music. He is the author of two books, Reel Music: Exploring 100 Years of Film Music and Miklós Rózsa Ben-Hur. He has also written numerous articles published in musicology journals and The New Grove Dictionary of Music, and he has been a major contributor to several editions of The History of Western Music (Burkholder, Grout, and Palisca) and The Enjoyment of Music (Forney and Machlis). He earned a PhD in musicology from the University of California, Berkeley.
