Unpublished article for Musical America, undated. The composer responds to a letter in the August issue of International Musician entitled “Are Americans Lazy?” that took issue with a suggestion made by Mr. Leopold Stokowski that orchestral scores be written in treble and bass clefs only, in concert key. He refutes the objections cited in the letter and both supports and extends Mr. Stokowski’s point.
