This article tells a story. And this story does not recall heroic jazz greats or live jazz events-from which many jazz stories emerge-but it follows a history of listenings and the journey of a record through the lives that it touches. It does, however, include some music, although it might not be the music that you expect. Yet it is about jazz. And women, and the everyday. And how all these things intertwine and offer us a way to think differently, to listen to different voices, and to tell different stories.
