Author Biography

  • Cate Devine, Independent Scholar

    Cate Devine is a Glasgow-based journalist and writer specialising in food, and food issues. She was a senior editor, feature writer and food columnist with The Herald (formerly the Glasgow Herald) for nineteen years before going freelance, since when she has had her work published in The Telegraph, The Times and The Financial Times, in print and online, and contributes to programmes on the BBC. Cate started her career at the BBC World Service at Bush House, London, and Robert Maxwell’s BPCC empire near Bishopsgate, before returning to Scotland to become deputy editor of Scottish Field magazine and a commissioning editor at The Sunday Post.
