Abstract

In April 2010, the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library, in Lexington, Massachusetts, held a symposium devoted to presenting new research on American fraternal groups from the past through to the present day. This issue of the Journal for Research into Freemasonry and Fraternalism shares scholarship from that event.

    Aimee E. Newell received her PhD in History from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. Currently the Director of Collections at the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library in Lexington, Massachusetts, she has previously worked at Old Sturbridge Village and the Nantucket Historical Association. She writes and lectures frequently on American Masonic and Fraternal History.
