Stanislaw Cieniawa studied at the Cracow Catholic Seminary, University of Wroclaw, Warsaw University, and he graduated with three degrees: M.A. in theology, M.A. in Polish philology, and Ph.D. in philosophy. His academic career as a professor of philosophy coincided with the period of Stalinist rule in Poland and he suffered persecution for not adhering to the official ruling party political platform. After the change of political system he fought the ideology of the ruling Catholic Church in Poland, demonstrating the falsehood of traditional religions.
